Inter‐Neighborhood Foundation of Wilmington (INF) is nearing completion on the construction of 8 new three- and four-bedroom townhomes on the City’s Upper Eastside. Walnut Place Townhomes, as the units are called, represents a unique partnership between INF and Bank of America and the Bank of America Community Development Corporation. Walnut Place is one aspect of a broader effort that will result in 61 units new affordable housing being brought to the Upper Eastside.
Groundbreaking on the project took place in October 2015 and construction completion is expected in July. “We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Bank of America and our other stakeholders on this project,” says Timothy Crawl-Bey, Executive Director of INF. “We have already pre-sold 5 units, reflecting the fact that Walnut Place has the design and character one expects in City homes but the size and amenities more often associated with suburban living.”
“Access to affordable, stable housing is foundational to a family’s well-being,” said Chip Rossi, Delaware market president, Bank of America. “INF’s longstanding commitment to revitalizing the Eastside aligns perfectly with our goal to create financial stability for families that often begins with access to affordable housing.
